Celebrate Volunteers Exhibition at Eastleigh Museum

Eastleigh celebrate volunteers exhibition

Eastleigh is celebrating voluntary and community organisations this summer.

The Hampshire Cultural Trust’s Celebrate Volunteers exhibition runs from 23 May to 27 June at Eastleigh Museum, 25 High Street, Eastleigh SO50 5LF.

“We Ask You to Open Your Hearts” – Eastleigh Gurkha Nepalese Association

Eastleigh Gurkha Nepalese Association Earthquake Appeal

Today Eastleigh Gurkha Nepalese Association was collecting donation in Eastleigh town centre for the Nepal Earthquake appeal fund.

I met some members of the group at Swan Centre Shopping Centre this afternoon. They told me they will take the donation to Nepal directly to help the most desperate people.

Here are some words in their leaflet:

German Student Seeking Host Family

A German student is seeking a host family. Are you able to help?

Eastleigh Lions twinned with German Kornwestheim Lions Club in 1995. Both towns are twinned as well.

The towns and the Lions Clubs enjoy a good cultural and social exchanges. The Lions Clubs also carry out joint projects over the many years.

Delightful Hut Wood – Have You Been Yet?

Explore Hut Wood off Chilworth

Hut Wood is one of those delightful bits of countryside that is just on our doorstep, yet few people seem to know about.

Well, there is an excuse – it’s managed by the Forestry Commission, but even their website doesn’t admit to its existence.

Fairtrade Fashion Show: Who Made Your Clothes?

Last Friday in Chandler’s Ford, there was a fashion show of a difference.

The Fairtrade Fashion Show brought many residents to St. Martin in the Wood church, where we learnt about the importance of buying Fairtrade products, and had a chance to appreciate and buy a wide range of beautiful Fairtrade clothes, jewellery and accessories, toys, cards, and gifts. A Hero of Trees – Richard St. Barbe Baker

One hundred years ago, on the battlefields of Flanders, lay a young officer of the Royal Horse Artillery. He was wounded, presumed dead.

Twice more during WWI he was wounded and recovered. He was awarded the Military Cross.

Chandler’s Ford Policing: Burglaries and Traffic Problems. Eastleigh Police Station to Close

There was a PACT Meeting (Police and Community Together) at Merdon School on Wednesday evening 25 March. It was attended by many Neighbourhood Watch people.

Previous PACT meeting in December last year had a low turnout (only 11 people) but on this occasion there were about 40 people present.

Eastleigh Borough Council is no longer running the popular CFH News for Chandler's Ford and Hiltingbury.

Eastleigh Borough Council has stopped publishing the very popular CFH News.

CFH News (Chandler’s Ford and Hiltingbury News) were monthly newsletters, which were sent to subscribers by email by Eastleigh Borough Council.

They were delivered to you through letterbox too.
