Fairtrade Shopping Evening 2019 – Buy Fairtrade and Make a Difference

November 10, 2019 By Janet Williams Leave a Comment

The Fairtrade shopping evening at St Martin in the Wood Church in Hiltingbury last Friday was successful and enjoyable. Many people attended and had an opportunity to buy a variety of high quality fairtrade products to support disadvantaged producers and workers in the developing world.

Fairtrade events encourage us to be ethical consumers and raise awareness of trade justice.

Bye-Bye Ridge Rider: Much Needed TLC for Fryern Recreation Ground

March 8, 2015 By Nicky Head 1 Comment

Fryern recreation ground Chandler's Ford: bye-bye Ridge Rider.

During the holidays it was used even more, and as I became older my friends and I would choose to meet up and sit on the grass hill and chat, sometimes for hours!

My favourite piece of play equipment [Read more…] about Bye-Bye Ridge Rider: Much Needed TLC for Fryern Recreation Ground

Fluoridation – Have We Tripped Ourselves Up?

October 29, 2014 By Mike Sedgwick 3 Comments

We are not to have fluoridation in this part of the country. Southampton City Council is against it. We have to ask why and our leaders do not tell us.

There is no doubt that our dental health is poor and that fluoridation is a cheap and effective way of improving it. [Read more…] about Fluoridation – Have We Tripped Ourselves Up?

With the sun shining, I have made a couple recent trips to B&Q and living so close, I’m fortunate to be able to walk but it’s not been a nice experience.

I was shocked and disappointed to see the state of the two paths from my house to B&Q with the high amount of litter in one small area!

My five year old daughter Lottie also noticed  [Read more…] about Keep Boyatt Wood Tidy!

At the age of seven I moved from Bitterne in Southampton to Chandler’s Ford, and in 2004, at the age of 20, my husband and I moved to Wales. The people in Wales have a huge pride in their country and that’s what I loved most about living there.

In 2009, after a wonderful time living and working in Wales, we moved back home with our son Samuel in tow. In fact we moved to the exact close that I grew up in, [Read more…] about With Syria: Fundraising for Shelterbox in Chandler’s Ford
