Platinum Jubilee Flower Festival at St Martin in the Wood Church

June 26, 2022 By Janet Williams 2 Comments

Did you go and see the Platinum Jubilee Flower Festival at St Martin in the Wood Church last week? I’m glad I did. I went there at the weekend and was amazed by the talent in our parish. Members from the parish church have taken such a lot of effort to create a memorable, beautiful week, and have spread joy in the community.

Roy Lancaster and his wife Sue officially opened the event on the 21st of June.

Christmas Is Coming – But Not Just Yet

November 29, 2014 By Hugh Benham 1 Comment

Advent and Christmas Services in the Parish of Chandler's Ford.

Christmas is approaching! This is very obvious when you visit a major shopping centre, watch adverts on television, etc. Indeed, the first invitation to buy Christmas cards came to me as early as September (or was it August?).

It’s understandable that businesses work this way, as Christmas sales contribute so much to their turnover. But, for those who don’t run businesses, weariness can set in, until Christmas becomes [Read more…] about Christmas Is Coming – But Not Just Yet

February 26, 2014 By Hazel Bateman 5 Comments

More than 30 years ago, I visited a World Development Movement meeting and saw a film about the way multi-national companies operate around the world. It prompted me to start a Traidcraft stall at my church in Ruislip Manor.

In Chandler’s Ford, I assisted Louise before and now assist Janet with her Traidcraft stall at St. Boniface Church.

We can often feel helpless when [Read more…] about Going Bananas Fairtrade Fashion Show: March 8
