Celebrate Volunteers Exhibition at Eastleigh Museum

May 25, 2015 By Janet Williams 5 Comments

Eastleigh is celebrating voluntary and community organisations this summer.

The Hampshire Cultural Trust’s Celebrate Volunteers exhibition runs from 23 May to 27 June at Eastleigh Museum, 25 High Street, Eastleigh SO50 5LF.

Admission is free to both the museum and gallery, from Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm and Saturday 10am – 2pm.

The exhibition celebrating voluntary and community organisations in the borough of Eastleigh was opened last Thursday by Councillor Jane Welsh, the Mayor of Eastleigh for the 2015/2016 Municipal Year.

At one of her first official engagements, the mayor applauded the work of local groups, who make such a difference to the cultural and community life of the borough.

The Celebrate Volunteers exhibition celebrates the work of these local groups:

  • Age Concern Eastleigh
  • Carers Action Network
  • Chameleon Theatre Company
  • Eastleigh Good Neighbours
  • One Community
  • Open Sight
  • St Francis Animal Welfare
  • Wessex Cancer Trust

Coinciding with National Volunteers’ Week from 1-7 June 2015, the exhibition shows the invaluable work countless volunteers do in our community.

The Chameleon Theatre Company from Chandler’s Ford also reached out and shared stories and photographs of the amateur group.

The Chameleons have been entertaining the people of Chandler’s Ford at The Ritchie Hall for the past 50 years.

Mike Morris and and Marilyn Dunbar, Chairman and Vice Chairman of The Chameleon Theatre Company, and Nick Coleman, publicist, attended the event.
