Sue Mair has run K’Sue Raa Coffee Bar for four years in The Central Precinct of Chandler’s Ford.

We watched Frankenstein – National Theatre Live at Thornden Hall last night.

Frankenstein featured Benedict Cumberbatch as the ‘creature’ and Jonny Lee Miller as Victor Frankenstein.

The Shambelurklers Return is a collection of short stories and poems for children. Two of the stories were written by Chandler’s Ford authors, Allison Symes and Richard Hardie.

How Methodist Church Dovetail Centre Surprises Me

Coffee Room at the Methodist Church

The Coffee Room will operate from the Purple Room from Monday 31st July until Tuesday 15th August 2017 while the Dovetail Centre is being refurbished.

The usual range of teas and coffee and biscuits will be available from 9.30 am to 12 noon Monday to Saturday. Access to the Purple Room is from the car park.

Follow the signs.

My son and I visited the Coffee Room in the Dovetail Centre of the Methodist Church on Winchester Road yesterday.

I went there to buy some tickets for MDG Players’ upcoming comedy: Ladies of Iniquity.

It is the last remaining snooker club in Winchester, Chandler’s Ford and Eastleigh.

New Grover Butchers At Fryern Arcade

Tony is back. Now we have new butchers at the Fryern Arcade in Chandler’s Ford.

The manager is Tony Padfield, from Highfield, who used to run Dukes Butchers just across the road at The Mall in Chandler’s Ford for 11 years.

Chandler's Ford Fryern Arcade new post office.

After months of delay, the Fryern Arcade post office in Chandler’s Ford will be moving across to the other side: 6-7 Fryern Arcade, and open at 1pm on 29th August.

Today I spoke to one builder who renovated the new site. I walked in to see the layout of the new shop.

Bishop’s Waltham Butchers will come to the Fryern Arcade in Chandler’s Ford soon.

But when? Well, the post office has to move over to the other side first, before the butcher Andrew Grover could occupy the post office’s current space next to D & G Hardware.

D & G Hardware: from Canberra to Chandler’s Ford

D & G stands for Des & Gabby, a couple who ran D & G Hardware in Canberra, capital city of Australia.

D & G later returned to Winchester and ran their independent, much-loved hardware business in St. George’s Street in Winchester for about 30 years.
