Before the opening of Costa Coffee (3rd May 2014) in the Fryern Arcade yesterday, there was a large sign on the outside wall of the building.

This morning, I did my shopping in a farmshop – in a white van.
I discovered the clean white van on top of Brownhill Road.

Anita Lee runs the Chinese take-away Mandarin Garden in Winchester Road in Chandler’s Ford.
Mandarin House has an open kitchen. While waiting for your food, you could actually watch how your food is being prepared. I love watching the chef tossing the noodles in the air. How does he do that? The wok looks heavy!
In my last post, I highlighted the magical Picture Framing Shop in Chandler’s Ford. My reader Ruby echoed my view and she described the shop as a real Aladdin’s cave.

My son and I walked for 35 minutes to get to The Picture Framing Shop in Chandler’s Ford last week.

I saw this advert in the Hursley Fete pamphlet last week and I was quite mesmerised.
Hursley Post Office opens 7 days a week and its services include: national lottery, dry cleaning, ice cream, deliver newspapers & magazines, locally produced eggs, bread, milk & cakes, pre-ordered foreign currency, euros on demand, greeting cards and stationery. When we first moved to Chandler’s Ford 13 years ago, the first coffee shop I visited was The Coffee Room, at the Methodist Church, on Winchester Road.

I bought a little jar of chilli last weekend from the lovely community store, Bay Leaves Larder, in Chandler’s Ford. It’s called Chilli Hillboy, from Gurkha Fine Foods.
