Chandler’s Ford MDG Players put on a brilliant comedy, Ladies of Iniquity, last week.

Sue Mair has run K’Sue Raa Coffee Bar for four years in The Central Precinct of Chandler’s Ford.

Humorous Little Memory: Montgomery Of Alamein School

Brian Green recalls Montgomery of Alamein School in Winchester.

On the first of July 1968, Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery visited Winchester and renamed Winchester County Secondary School for boys to Montgomery of Alamein School.

It was a significant event as it was the only Montgomery of Alamein school in the world.

Eastleigh Bunting & Eastleigh Museum WW1 Poetry Evening

My son and I visited Eastleigh Museum during the half term holiday.

We saw a WW1 exhibition called Soldiers’ Journey. It is a multi-venue exhibition that portrays Hampshire’s critical role throughout the First World War.

I was attracted by beautiful buntings, which adorned the walls on the walkway to the hall.

Frankenstein – National Theatre Live At Thornden Hall

We watched Frankenstein – National Theatre Live at Thornden Hall last night.

Frankenstein featured Benedict Cumberbatch as the ‘creature’ and Jonny Lee Miller as Victor Frankenstein.

How Methodist Church Dovetail Centre Surprises Me

Coffee Room at the Methodist Church

The Coffee Room will operate from the Purple Room from Monday 31st July until Tuesday 15th August 2017 while the Dovetail Centre is being refurbished.

The usual range of teas and coffee and biscuits will be available from 9.30 am to 12 noon Monday to Saturday. Access to the Purple Room is from the car park.

Follow the signs.

My son and I visited the Coffee Room in the Dovetail Centre of the Methodist Church on Winchester Road yesterday.

Building Strong Fairtrade Community In Chandler’s Ford

There is a strong and well-connected Fairtrade community in Chandler’s Ford. The Fairtrade Christmas shopping event last Friday (17th October 2014) at Hiltingbury just proved it.

Tricia Urquhart from Hiltingbury organised a successful Fairtrade Christmas get-together for the community at St. Martin in the Wood Church, where I met old and new friends, who enjoyed an alternative Christmas shopping experience.
