Comfy K’Sue Raa Coffee Bar At Central Precinct

Update November 2015: K’Sue Raa Coffee Bar has closed. The new coffee shop is now Relish Canteen.

Sue Mair has run K’Sue Raa Coffee Bar for four years in The Central Precinct of Chandler’s Ford.

Sue left her job at Southampton Airport as a check-in staff to fulfil her dream of running a little coffee shop.

What is Sue’s secrets to keeping her customers?

Sue gives personal, friendly service to her customers, and some have become friends.

Sue knows her customers’ names, and her customers’ preferences for food and drinks.

K’Sue Raa Coffee Bar is located at Chandler’s Ford Central Precinct, near the busy Winchester Road / Hursley Road roundabout. Sue told me her regular customers come from local businesses, and local residents, especially the OAPs.

Selling Ahmad Tea

I shouldn’t be surprised that Sue sells a wide range of tea from Ahmad Tea.

Ahmad Tea, which features a fascinating Tea Museum, is just located behind the Central Precinct.

Normally supermarkets do not sell Ahmad Tea. Ahmad Tea are normally found in specialised gift shops. You may also see them as highly exclusive gift teas at airports.

Special Supper Evening that everybody loves

Once a month, Sue would open in the evening for a special Supper Evening. Many of her regular customers love Sue’s supper evening. It is £12 per head for a 3-course meal, and you have to book in advance.

The menu for each month’s supper is different. Sue showed me her handwritten menu for November 24th:

Menu: Spicy parsnip soup & crusty roll; liver & bacon casserole & mash & peas; mixed fruit brûlée.

K’Sue Raa Coffee Bar is friendly and welcoming. In the shop, Sue also helps sell some art work and handmade cards made by local crafters. The community notice board keeps you informed of local events.
