I’m sure you know about Peter Green, our local high quality furniture store in Chandler’s Ford with a 58-year history.

Well, last night I watched Eurovision with my son. Do you know the first Eurovision Song Contest was held in 1956? Peter Green was established in Eastleigh [Read more…] about Peter Green

The shopping part of the expedition was successful. We soon found the few items that we needed. Not so the coffee part, however. [Read more…] about Table Hogging

March 12, 2014 By Janet Williams 2 Comments

Farmshop in a van

This morning, I did my shopping in a farmshop – in a white van.

I discovered the clean white van on top of Brownhill Road.

It is an amazing mobile farmshop. It stops on Brownhill Road every Wednesday from 10am to 10.30am. [Read more…] about Magical Farmshop In A Van On Brownhill Road

The Picture Framing Shop: A Real Aladdin’s Cave

January 8, 2014 By Janet Williams 3 Comments

In my last post, I highlighted the magical Picture Framing Shop in Chandler’s Ford. My reader Ruby echoed my view and she described the shop as a real Aladdin’s cave.

This is a fitting description in praise of The Picture Framing Shop in Chandler’s Ford.

The Magical Picture Framing Shop in Chandler’s Ford

January 7, 2014 By Janet Williams 9 Comments

My son and I walked for 35 minutes to get to The Picture Framing Shop in Chandler’s Ford last week.

The walk in the cold weather was worth it as we bought everything we needed for my son’s major art project for a mask.

The young and energetic owner [Read more…] about The Magical Picture Framing Shop in Chandler’s Ford

History of Selwood Christmas Tree in Chandler’s Ford

December 24, 2013 By Janet Williams 3 Comments

Do you know how tall this Christmas tree is?

I often find the gigantic Christmas tree at Selwood Pump Sales & Manufacturing on Bournemouth Road fascinating.

Old residents in Chandler’s Ford told me that Selwood dresses up the most stunning (and possibly the tallest) Christmas tree every year in Chandler’s Ford. [Read more…] about History of Selwood Christmas Tree in Chandler’s Ford
