Here are some images to remind you what a remarkable day today was in Chandler’s Ford.
The St. George’s Day Parade on 27 April 2014 was a special day many of us will remember.
Outside Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church, I saw the Mayor of Eastliegh, Councillor Malcolm Cross. I also saw Reverand Michael Smith from St. Boniface Church.
Actually, I didn’t get to attend the St. George’s Day service at the Methodist Church, as there were only 6 spaces left for visitors. Lots of people wanted to attend the service to witness this significant event.
Carolyn Darbyshire MBE retired as District Commissioner today. 38-year-old Ant Gardiner now leads the Scouts District in Chandler’s Ford.
Ed Vokes co-ordinated the road closures and safety for the parade. He is a cub leader with the 4th Chandler’s Ford.
Scout leader Richard Moss sent me these beautiful images from the church service and the parade. I’m sure you’ll appreciate them. Thank you, Richard.

I think people who give up their time and energy to run Scouts, Cubs, Beavers etc are really wonderful human beings!
Janet says
Indeed. The leaders are wonderful and we should all be grateful for their contribution. They nurture the children in our community. In the Parade, you could sense their pride, their joy. It was very moving.
