The St. George’s Day Parade on 27 April 2014 (Sunday) will be a vibrant event in Chandler’s Ford.
It is expected that over 600 participants will take part in this much-loved annual event.
From 2.30pm, the whole of Chandler’s Ford District Scouts, led by the Spitfires Scout Marching Band, will parade with flags through Chandler’s Ford from Merdon Junior School to the Methodist Church for a service and then return to Merdon School at about 4.00pm.
St George is the Patron Saint of Scouting.
The parade will be the last one for the current Chandler’s Ford District Commissioner Carolyn Darbyshire MBE, who has been in post for 15 years, since 1999.
All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts will gather at Merdon Junior School and line up between 2.00pm and 2.15pm, ready for the parade to begin at 2.30pm.
Roads will be closed during the parade.
