The Choir of St. Boniface church, Hursley Road held a coffee morning, cake stall and raffle recently to help raise funds for new books for the Evensong service (most Sundays at 6.30).
Well over £200 was added to the choir’s bank account as a result, and the books will be bought soon.
On May 14th, Haskins Garden Centre at Mansbridge opened its doors late to host a fashion show in aid of the Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity.

Every four years the scout movement holds a World Jamboree attended by scouts from all over the world.

Last weekend it was my privilege and pleasure to visit Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk for the annual conference and AGM of the Guild of Church Musicians, and particularly so as the Guild was making me one of several new honorary fellows (Hon. FGCM for short).

I spoke to Ant Gardiner this afternoon before the Chandler’s Ford St. George’s Day Parade started.
Ant is only 38 years old. He is now the new District Commissioner of the Chandler’s Ford District Scouts, leading about 700 youngsters in Chandler’s Ford. On Saturday 12th April 2014 Chandler’s Ford born and bred Rowan Esther Catherine Cameron wed Robbie Stewart Weir at Weetwood Hall in Leeds. Eastleigh and Chandler’s Ford Fundraising Group for Marie Curie Cancer Care had a successful and fun morning at a Table Top Sale at Chilworth Hall, Chilworth on Sunday 23rd March 2014.

Eastleigh is home to one of the top scout and guide bands in the country. The 14th Eastleigh Scout and Guide Band – “The Spitfires” – is a concert and marching band that was founded in 1968 by the then group scout leader of the 14th Eastleigh scout troop.
