How Much Is A Cuppa In Chandler’s Ford?

April 16, 2013 By Janet Williams 12 Comments

I mentioned a while ago that The Coffee Room in the Dovetail Centre at the Methodist Church in Chandler’s Ford is a warm and friendly place for the community.

I also pointed out that prices for the drinks are low — so low that you may even feel guilty.

Last weekend, I had a chance to speak to Barbara Lowe, senior steward of the Methodist Church. I asked her the cost of a cup of tea at the Coffee Room.

Barbara did what a church steward was supposed to do and she kindly took me to the kitchen and showed me the price list:

Fair Trade pure ground coffee

only 45p per cup and 55p per mug

A pot of Fair Trade tea

per person is only 40p (Earl Grey or Decaffeinated are also available)

All profits go to local charities and the work of the church.

The Coffee Room is well-loved for its friendly atmosphere, bright setting and quality drinks. Have I mentioned there’s also a comfortable cushion on the seat too? Many new residents to Chandler’s Ford have found friendship and support in the Coffee Room.

If you haven’t been to the Coffee Room yet, perhaps you would like to pop in next time you pass by. It’s open to the public, from Monday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 12pm.
