Chandler’s Ford MDG Players Present Bunkered From 28 – 30 November 2013

November 23, 2013 By Janet Williams 1 Comment

The fantastic Chandler’s Ford MDG Players (Methodist Church Drama Group) will be performing Bunkered by Lynn Brittney, on Thursday 28th, Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November 2013 at 7.30 pm.

They will perform in the Methodist Church Hall, Winchester Road, Chandler’s Ford.

The comedy Bunkered is set in a disused army bunker……

“On the coast of Britain is a Naval Intelligence cold war bunker, manned by four naval personnel nearing retirement. Only, as far as the Royal Navy is concerned, the bunker was decommissioned in 1991 and the staff made redundant … but somehow they continued to receive regular pay cheques.

When one of them decides to bring the equipment up to full working order before he retires, imagine the Admiralty’s alarm when they start receiving distress signals from a supposedly defunct facility.

Time to send in the Marines…! The resulting action is fast, sometimes farcical but always funny!”

The Director of Bunkered is Mike Standing.

Tickets normally sell fast with MDG Players’ productions. There are 3 ways to buy your tickets for this play. You can pop into the Methodist church Coffee Room every morning Monday to Saturday, in the Dovetail Centre at the Methodist Church on Winchester Road. You can also telephone the box office on 02380 253922 and speak to John, or email him at johndiscombe@talktalk.net

The tickets are £6.00 each.

I have seen quite a few of MDG Players’ productions in the past, including Sand Castles, An Inspector Calls, Beyond a Joke, Blithe Spirit, and their performances were absolutely outstanding.

MDG Players is an amateur dramatics group based at the Methodist Church in Chandler’s Ford, and has been in existence for 50 years. They present 2 plays every year, one in March or April and one in November.

Feel free to send me your review after you have watched Bunkered. Thank you.
