Vicar Of Dibley By The Chameleons: Brilliant Show

July 27, 2014 By Janet Williams 7 Comments

Chandler’s Ford Chameleon Theatre Company did it again!

I saw the comedy The Vicar of Dibley with two teenagers last Thursday at The Ritchie Memorial Hall in Chandler’s Ford.

What a stunning show! Congratulations to The Chameleons! Nick Coleman – what an excellent choice for your role as the grumpy, obnoxious, upper-class David Horton.

What happens when a vicar with the most magnificent bosom walks into a small Oxfordshire village called Dibley in her high heels?

How could anyone not warm to the magnificent, talented, chocolate-munching Mikki Jenman, who plays Geraldine Granger, the Vicar?

Congratulations to the marriage of Hugo Horton (played by Stephen Fenerty) and Alice Tinker (played by Ali Wineberg). So silly, yet so sweet.

Credits to the director Marilyn Dunbar and the Company. The cast, lighting, the choir (of a difference), the sound effects (how parents all thank you for your censor beep sound effect!)……The stage, the performance and the warm welcome the audience received – absolutely brilliant.

Thank you the Chameleons for bringing such a professional and entertaining performance to Chandler’s Ford on a lovely summer day.

The Chameleons are staging Graham Lineham’s hit stage-version of a well-known and much-loved 1958 Ealing comedy classic The Ladykillers from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th October 2014. See the website of Chameleon Theatre Company for details.
