At the Fryern Funtasia on Monday, we had loads of visitors and we handed out lots of information about Chameleon Theatre Company as well as flyers about our next production, The Vicar of Dibley.
The Vicar of Dibley will be staging from Thursday 24th to Saturday 26th of July at The Ritchie Hall, Hursley Road in Chandler’s Ford. This show will likely sell out quickly so we were encouraging interested audience members to book as soon as the Box Office opens on 6th of June.
Courtesy of Tiger Aspect Productions, we are excited to be bringing all of your favourite characters back to life on stage in The Ritchie Hall from 24th to 26th of July 2014.
The Synopsis
Voted Britain’s 3rd most popular TV sitcom, BBC’s The Vicar of Dibley was created by Richard Curtis and written for its lead actress, Dawn French. Hard to believe but it was almost 20 years ago that the first episode, featuring Geraldine’s shock arrival at David Horton’s manor house, appeared on our screens. The series ran until 2007.
The Vicar of Dibley was set in a fictional small Oxfordshire village called Dibley, which is assigned a female vicar following the 1992 changes in the Church of England that permitted the ordination of women.A specially-crafted script, based on several of the most popular episodes, has been skilfully adapted for amateur theatre companies to perform by Ian Gower and Paul Carpenter. All proceeds will be going to Comic Relief.
