On Saturday evening (Saturday 24 January 2015, 18:30 till 21:30), Chandler’s Ford Muslim Conference took place at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church.

The flyer mentions the aim of the conference: “Uniting local Muslim communities for the common good.” Topics covered Islamic Community Centre, Women’s events, Adult & Young education.

The organiser also aims “to bring together all the Muslim residents of Chandler’s Ford, North Baddesley, Eastleigh, North Southampton, Romsey, and Winchester to share views on local activities, visions for the future and setting up a representative local organisation.”

Our thanks to @EastleighPolice and @HantsPolice. We could not have made this conference work without the strong blue line. #localheroes — Mohammed Ansar (@MoAnsar) January 24, 2015

We held our conference this evening uniting Muslims in Hampshire communities. The EDL and far right tried to divide us. We stand strong.

Tonight we saw the Methodist Church and Muslims standing shoulder-to-shoulder in love and solidarity. We reject the politics of hate. — Mohammed Ansar (@MoAnsar) January 24, 2015

Standing outside as our conference continues. Its cold. The mischief makers are gone. We carry on doing the real work our communities need.
