Chandler’s Ford hustings 22nd April 2015
There was a huge turnout for the hustings in Chandler’s Ford this evening.
Chandler’s Ford photographer Alan Fry attended the hustings this evening at the Methodist Church and shared these pictures with us.
The hustings was organised by Churches Together in Chandler’s Ford, and chaired by Adrian Nance.
The wonderful Eastleigh News has uploaded the sound file of the hustings on SoundCloud: Winchester & Chandler’s Ford Hustings 22 April 2015 by Eastleigh_news.

All five candidates were in Chandler’s Ford answering residents’ questions.

Note: It was a shame as I was unable to attend the hustings this evening as I was in hospital receiving some urgent treatment.
If you attended the event, feel free to add your views in the comments of this post.
Were your questions answered? Did the hustings change how you might vote? Do you have more questions that you may like to ask?

GE2015: Winchester Constituency Profile
Introduction to Winchester News Online’s historic all-night coverage of the 2015 general election presented by Lucy Wilson with live coverage of 20 counts from six locations all over the south.
The show begins at 10pm on Thursday May 7th 2015
Last night was a brilliant display of democracy in action. The debate was adult and good-humoured, with each candidate given an equal time to make and opening and closing statement, and to respond to the questions which had been submitted.
There was mercifully little negative political point-scoring, which is such a turn-off for most voters, and a genuine engagement with the issues presented. Housing and the NHS predominated.
Although I have already decided whom to vote for on 7 May, if I had been an ‘undecided’, I think Mark Chaloner, the Labour candidate would have persuaded me – for me, he ‘won’ the debate, although all the other candidates performed well. Thank you to Adrian Nance for his very able chairmanship!
