Update 1st Nov 2016: Closed: Stairway Bakery and Coffee Shop at Fryern Arcade
Original post (below):
Have you had mince pies with your loved ones yet?
Why not visit The Coffee Room at the Methodist Church? The delicious home-made mince pie is 30 pence. I’ve had a few.
Yesterday I had mince pies at The Coffee Room with my friend and her children. The volunteers there wish you all a peaceful and blessed Christmas.
Jane Archer and The Coffee Room
The Coffee Room started in 1979.
Jane Archer has been running this friendly Coffee Room for over 30 years, with a strong team of 70 volunteers.
If you visit The Coffee Room now, you’ll also find a beautiful Nativity scene with a Chandler’s Ford connection.
Jane created the most impressive Nativity scene with rocks, stones, and fresh green foliage from her garden each year.
You can compare Jane’s Nativity scene this year to that of last year: Have You Seen The Most Charming Nativity Set In Chandler’s Ford?
Stairway Bakery and Coffee Shop
Across the road, Stairway Bakery and Coffee Shop at the Fryern Arcade was also busy.
Linda and Gemma, who work at Stairway Bakery, sent you their warmest wishes for Christmas and a wonderful new year.
Shop Equality
Yesterday afternoon, I visited Shop Equality in Eastleigh after watching the most delightful film, Paddington, with my son and some friends.
Shop Equality (SO50 5PP) at Wells Place in Eastleigh is run by Sue Hunt.
Shop Equality is the centre of high quality Fairtrade products in Eastleigh. Sue brings a wide range of ethically sourced, produced, and fairly traded handmade gifts from around the developing world to Eastleigh.
I got my son to buy two gifts in the shop with his own pocket money, one for his granny, and one for his mother!
We had a chat with the lovely volunteers there, Kimberly Jones and Ruth Arnold. They both wish you peace and happiness at Christmas and the new year.
