Spring is finally here! Chandler’s Ford is full of great events this month to suit all tastes.
I’ll highlight a few events here. If you know of other events, please let me know so that I could add them to the Upcoming Events page.
Craft Fairs at Age Concern Centre
There’ll be 2 craft fairs at the Chandler’s Ford Age Concern Centre on Brownhill Road. These markets are free of charge.
- Fromthe Craftbox: Handmade Craft Market: Saturday 16th April 10.30am to 2.30pm
- Chandler’s Ford Produce and Craft Market: Saturday 30th April 10am to 1pm
Handmade Craft Market is run by Michelle Duffy, who runs her micro business Fromthe Craftbox. Recently Michelle was interviewed by Solent TV and she shares how she supports local entrepreneurs and local community centres, and her business inspiration.
Chandler’s Ford Produce and Craft Market is run by Steve Allen. This market has craft, cake, and also fresh produce.
Romsey Male Voice Choir’s concert is on Saturday 16th April 7.30pm at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church. (There’ll be a separate post about this event later.)
St. George’s Day Parade Chandler’s Ford
St. George’s Day Parade will be on Sunday 24th April. It’s fun watching the Scouts (a few hundreds of them, young ones and mature ones!) marching the streets in Chandler’s Ford (ok. I’m talking about Merdon Avenue and Winchester Road). The 14th Eastleigh Scout and Guide Band marching band is brilliant and their music is always uplifting.
The Spitfires will also be performing a St. George’s Day concert: Saturday 23rd April at 7.30pm, at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church.
Chippy Minton reviewed The Spitfires’ performances twice before on Chandler’s Ford Today:

If you would like to find out more about the Lions Club of Eastleigh, don’t miss the Cheese and Wine (or Coffee) Evening: The Holiday Inn, Eastleigh: Wednesday or Thursday 20th and 21st April: 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
Art is around us! Chandler’s Ford Art Group has many events throughout the year. Its spring event is on Wednesday 27th April with Sera Knight.
The Pocket Dream – Chameleon Theatre Company
Don’t miss The Chameleons’ spring production The Pocket Dream by Elly Brewer and Sandy Toksvig. This uproarious comedy is a retelling of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
I’m a big fan of the Chameleons. Here are some reviews on their recent performances:

Hiltingbury Community Centre (The Hilt) and Thornden Hall also feature exciting events all year round.
I hope you get round to enjoy some of these fab events right on our doorstep.
