Eastleigh Mardi Gras 2014

I spent half a day in Eastleigh town centre yesterday to watch Eastleigh Mardi Gras.

Traditionally Mardi Gras (or Fat Tuesday in French) is a Christian holiday, commonly known as Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day or Pancake Tuesday in the UK. I went to Hiltingbury Extravaganza this afternoon with my teenage son. It was a beautiful day. Hiltingbury was buzzing with excitement.

Mr & Mrs Brown At Eastleigh Museum

Yesterday my son and I went to see Mr and Mrs Brown again, at Eastleigh Museum.

In 1938, Mr & Mrs Brown lived in Eastleigh with their son Arthur, who was an apprentice at Eastleigh Rail Works. Mr Brown was an engine driver, who earned about £5 a week. [Read more…] about Mr & Mrs Brown At Eastleigh Museum

Chameleons: Magical Peter Pan Delight For Chandler’s Ford

The Mayor of Eastleigh (aka Sexy Drawers) with Captain Hook.

The Chameleon Theatre Company of Chandler’s Ford recently staged a magical interpretation of J M Barrie’s Peter Pan for their annual pantomime directed by Gillian Wilkins.

FREE Theatre Evenings For The Elderly In Chandler’s Ford

The Chameleon Theatre Company of Chandlers Ford are now offering free transport to the elderly and disabled residents of local care homes as well as free seats at four of their productions each year at The Ritchie Hall in Hursley Road in Chandler’s Ford.
