CCTV Issued: Purse Stolen from 91-year-old Woman in Chandler’s Ford

Hampshire Constabulary: CCTV issued after purse stolen from elderly woman in Chandler’s Ford

Officers have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after a purse was stolen from an elderly woman in Chandler’s Ford.

The incident happened at around 11am on Wednesday 25 July while the 91-year-old woman was shopping in Waitrose, Oakmount Road. A man followed her around the store, making attempts to look in her bag. He followed her into another aisle, and when she wasn’t looking, he stole her purse.

He made off with her brown leather purse which contained a bank card, bus pass, driving licence and cash.

PC Alex Fortune, said: “This is a despicable incident where an elderly woman has been targeted. Not satisfied with the £100 cash that was in the purse, he then went on to use her bank card in three different stores.

“I would urge anyone with information to contact is quoting 44180281058.”
