Special Day Out

March 23, 2014 By Mike Sedgwick 1 Comment

We all have days out. Sometimes carefully planned and looked forward to, sometimes more spontaneous. All are enjoyable but sometimes a day turns out to be really special, better than expected.

Janet’s walk through Hocombe Mead was extra special.

We had one last week.

A fun day for kids and grandparents.
A fun day for kids and grandparents.

It was a kite making class for the grandchildren at their school in Kent. It was so well organised and 24 children were busy and industrious making and decorating their kites. The weather was perfect and they all got to fly their kites in the school field. Some let the kites go, some crossed the strings, some got their string tangled but everyone made and flew their own kite. Most kites survived to be taken home for another day. It was tremendous fun for all, especially grandparents.

Thanks to Kent Kite Flyers for their organisation.
