Review – The Vicar of Dibley by Bishopstoke Players

September 30, 2018 By SO53 News Leave a Comment

Review by Diane Allen.

We really enjoyed Vicar of Dibley last Friday, performed by Bishopstoke Players. The production was really good. The cast (and choir) were excellent. In particular the actress playing Alice Tinker (Jennifer Pike) was superb. She had her accent and mannerisms down to a tee.

Also Katie Pink who played the vicar was very good. Having to take on such an iconic role isn’t easy and she played it really well. We were told that all three night are sold out. Ware very lucky we have so many very good theatre companies in the area Youth and Adult.

Note: As with all Bishopstoke Players’ productions, proceeds will be donated to the charity Action for Children.

About Bishopstoke Players

Bishopstoke Players was created in 1947.

Since 1986 the Players have regularly participated in one-act drama festivals, travelling across the south of England, often with self-penned plays.

The society still performs 3 productions a year – generally in January, May and September. Now, Bishopstoke Players (the ‘YLU’ was dropped in the 1980s) goes from strength to strength with the addition of Pantomime and Shakespeare to the mixed repertoire of dramas and comedies.
