Easter 2016: Family and Chocolate

March 27, 2016 By Janet Williams 1 Comment

Last year I shared my Easter with you. I’m going to share my day with you again.

I’m having a nasty cold so it was a struggle in the morning. I missed the church today, but my neighbours later told me the Parish church was packed.

Who said Christianity is on the wane? I never believe it.

At Chandler’s ford Methodist Church, the Easter breakfast was prepared by the men this morning.

We drove to see our in-laws in the countryside. My mother-in-law prepared a delicious roast lunch, and the crackling was a success.

We were given lots of chocolate, almost enough to power the car.

Lots of chocolate. Unbelievable!
Lots of chocolate. Unbelievable!

Finally, PC Mark Walsh has a special message to you on this special day (Please remember to turn the volume up.).

The secret is out! #HappyEaster ‘everybunny’ 👮🏼🐰 https://t.co/VDFKp4Cg7j

Thank you for sharing. Colds and the swine flu seem to be shared as well. For our lunch with 14 family we tried and succeeded in not having chocolate. Well, there was a chocolate cake which the youngsters ate. The teenagers scoffed all the sausages and the 40 yr olds went for the flapjack.

It is interesting to hear them talk of new friends, couples with new babies, houses, jobs. Children doing well or causing concern. Happily there was no talk of material things and ‘keeping up with the Joneses’.

The richness of human relationships trumps the richness of money every time.
