Chandler’s Ford Today receives letters from readers quite regularly. Today we’re sharing a letter from Dee.
Dee is a new resident to Chandler’s Ford and she told us this story:
My name is Dee and I have just moved to Hursley Road leaving Andover where I had been for almost 30 years.
I came to the area because my youngest son lives on the Bournemouth Road, with his family. Being a Winchester girl originally, I feel that in Chandler’s Ford, I am still close to “home”.
The reason I am writing is to inform you (and therefore your readers) is that last week upon going to his wheelie bin which is on his deeply gravelled front drive my son found car numberplate.
He called 101 and discovered these were from a stolen Mercedes E class and was asked to take them to Southampton Central. He is now installing security camera as he is worried about his wife and child.
Gravel is meant to deter bunglers, and yet someone went right up his drive to his house to deposit these. Why his bin and why his house? It was so random, but important to be aware I think.
