Hazel Bateman says
A new initiative for the Hiltingbury area in 2015 is Community Speedwatch. Trained local volunteers will carry out speed checks on our local roads at locations specified by the police. The number plates of those speeding will be recorded, handed to the police and placed on a database, and the vehicle owner will receive a letter from the police. Subsequent offences will lead to further action. If you would like to volunteer to be on the team to carry out this work, please contact PC Laura King eastleigh.snt.western@hampshire.pnn.police.uk for more information.
Mike Sedgwick says
With police forces having to make savings there are going to be less police around. Communities are going to have to do more for themselves. The police remaining face developing threats, cyber crime, financial and commercial fraud, people trafficking and terrorism to name a few.
