Chameleon Theatre Company Supports Chandler’s Ford Good Neighbours

October 6, 2015 By Janet Williams 1 Comment

A few weeks ago I saw this note at the Dovetail Centre of the Methodist Church.

The note asks you to be a friend of someone.

Chandler’s Ford Good Neighbours

Could you spare an hour to befriend someone?

There are lots of older people in our postcode area who would appreciate a friendly chat.

In Chandler’s Ford, you could support the work of Chandler’s Ford Good Neighbours. The volunteers help residents throughout the SO53 postcode area.

What help can Good Neighbours offer you?

The services include:

  • driving and then escorting people to local medical appointments, including
  • doctor, dentist, optician, physiotherapist, podiatrist
  • taking people to hospital appointments and wait there with them
  • helping with shopping, either taking someone to the shops or doing the shopping for them
  • taking someone to visit their partner in a local care home
  • other small tasks – call our co-ordinator to find out whether we can help

Chameleon Theatre Company

In their recent AGM, the Chameleon Theatre Company of Chandler’s Ford has chosen Chandler’s Ford Good Neighbours to benefit from their fund raising efforts in the coming year.

Last year the Chameleons supported the local Alzheimer’s Society and raised over £800 for them from the sale of raffle tickets through the year – a record amount.

The Chameleons stage 4 productions per year. The upcoming production in October will be Dracula by Bram Stocker.

Don’t miss the show. You can buy tickets online.

Dracula – The Chameleon Theatre Company

Thursday 29th to Saturday 31st of October 2015

As a sudden and mysterious storm whips the coast of England, a young woman sleepwalks along the edge of the sea cliff. In the teeth of a gale a ship crashes through the harbour entrance, abandoned except for an immense dog and fifty boxes of grave dust. The Transylvanian Count Dracula has arrived in England.

The most chilling story of all time, Bram Stoker’s gothic classic, adapted by Jane Thornton and John Godber, and directed by Liz Strevens.
