March 12, 2016 By SO53 News 1 Comment

Chandler’s Ford Parish Council were delighted that HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson Esq, officially opened the Fryern Pavilion extension on the 10 March 2016, with The Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Jane Welsh,  in attendance.

The Chairman of the Parish Council, Councillor Margaret Atkinson, welcomed the Lord-Lieutenant and his wife to the Pavilion and introduced him to the Mayor, Borough and Parish Councillors, local business owners, residents as well as officers of the Parish Council and invited guests including the project managers and architects TKL.

Speaking later Cllr Atkinson said, ‘This was a very happy and memorable event which has really placed the Fryern Pavilion on the Chandler’s Ford map and I do hope all residents will enjoy using the wonderful facilities now provided here.’

Several children from Fryern Junior School met the Lord-Lieutenant in the Jubilee Garden and helped him plant a holly tree. Later the school choir sang for the Lord-Lieutenant and a light finger buffet was supplied by Bay Leaves.
