Fryern Funtasia was such a great success. The weather was quite ‘unpredictable’ but the drizzle didn’t seem to bother us. The event was well organised, and the atmosphere was superb. When people said it’s a ‘community’ event and it truly was. There was something special for everyone, whatever your age. There were favourite games and crafts for children, and there were also boats and steam train for enthusiasts. There was a stilt walker who entertained and surprised the kids. Animals. Music that filled the air. Ice Cream.

The Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr Dave Pragnell and the Mayoress Jean went round to meet many people. At the u3a pitch, the mayor spoke with Pam Moffat (Vice Chair) and Dave Claxton (Chair) about u3a and their role within the community.
Here are some photographs from the event.

The Chameleon Theatre Company
The Chameleon Theatre Company also had a strong presence. The Chameleons will be celebrating their 60th anniversary. They will be holding an Open Evening on Saturday 7th June 2025 from 6pm to 9pm where people can go and see behind the scenes.
The Hand in Hand Puppet Shows
One of my favourites on that day was the puppet shows by The Hand in Hand Puppet Team. Love the upbeat songs and quirky characters. Well done to the Hand in Hand Puppet Team from the Methodist Church, and many congratulations as it was their first outside gig at Fryern Funtasia. I hope they come back again next year.

Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church
Thanks to those who contributed to the cake and plants for the day. The plant and refreshment stalls were, as usual, very popular and much needed. The freshly made sandwiches kept us all going for the day. Despite the cold wind, people really had a good time (and trying to stop things flying away from various stalls).

Eastleigh and District Model Boat Club
Are you a big fan of boats of all sorts? The Eastleigh and District Model Boat Club was quite fascinating.

Music and Dances
Boys Brigade; Romsey Ukulele Group; Fryern Federation with Crowning of May Queen and King along with Choir and Maypole dancing, and many other performances by other groups. You were all outstanding!

Here are a few more photographs for you to enjoy and to remember the wonderful day.
