Chandler’s Ford Fryern Funtasia 1 May 2017

May 1, 2017 By Janet Williams 4 Comments

The Fryern Funtasia is a community event organised by local volunteers and businesses, with the support of the Chandler’s Ford Parish Council. The Fryern Funtasia has become one of the most popular local community events in recent years, and it is in its 6th year.

Today the event was officially opened by the Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Des Scott.

Members from the Eastleigh Operatic and Musical Society were giving out leaflets to promote their upcoming performance, a musical version of Goodnight Mister Tom, by Michelle Magorian and Gary Carpenter. The cast of EOMS and junior section Footlights Youth Theatre combine to present a show for schools, children and adults alike.

Goodnight Mister Tom will be performed from Thurs 11th to Sat 13th May 2017, at The Point in Eastleigh.

I was there for less than two hours this afternoon due to parking. (In the past I used to walk there, but I had to drive this year because I knew I was going to buy lots of plants. )

I must have missed many stalls, a variety of entertainment, and lots of fun. Feel free to share with us your experience this afternoon in the comment box below.

Well done for the organiser, many volunteers, and supportive local businesses.

    Nice report, Janet.
Good to see you there. We bought plants also, not to mention the coffee and delicious sandwiches.
