I went to Chandler’s Ford Produce and Craft Market this morning and realised that Christmas has indeed arrived.
The market was held at the Age Concern Centre on Brownhill Road (just next to the Co-op and the Fryern Arcade).
There were regular and new stall-holders. Geoff Spierling had his stall for the first time in this market, and his wood products were beautiful and great for gifts (vase, bowls, knobs, pens, cases, spinners, shaving kits, lipstick pen …).
Chandler’s Ford writers Sally Howard and Karen Stephen were at the market promoting their books. The authors of Secret Lives of Chandler’s Ford are Maggie Farran, Sally Howard, Karen Stephen, and Catherine Griffin. They have now published volume two: More Secret Lives of Chandler’s Ford: A Second Collection of Short Stories: Volume 2.
I bought a lovely hand towel made by Chris Rennalls – not a boring hand towel, as the top carries pictures of very cute cats, and the towel is rather thick as well. I love her creative designs of the hand towels (ok, there are other animals on the fabric, such as owls, elephants, dogs…) no wonder these have sold very well and Chris had sold hundreds of them.
There were quite a few lovely stalls (selling glass, cushion, jewellery, jam, bags…) and they seemed to be doing well. There was a fresh produce stall by Tom and Tris. Some Eastleigh College students were also there selling their hand made Christmas gifts.
