Christmas at Chandler’s Ford Produce and Craft Market 2015

December 14, 2015 By Janet Williams 2 Comments

Christmas came early at Chandler’s Ford Produce and Craft Market, held at Age Concern Centre on Brownhill Road last weekend.

It was the third Produce and Craft Market in Chandler’s Ford since October, with over 100 visitors.

From 2016, new markets will start before Easter, market organiser Steve Allen said.

I spent over £20 in this market last Saturday (I found it hard to resist local markets – but it was my birthday, so I was being generous to myself.)

I was pleased to be able to buy directly from our local friends and crafters in this market.

Shirley Walker’s bright, cheerful original clock carries easy folk art style brush strokes. Shirley will also be running a workshop in the new year in Hampshire Art and Craft.

Artist and designer Sarah Jane Brain and Pauline Wilson are two good friends, who share the same passion in handmade cards and craft.

Jeff and his wife brought beautiful creative wood decorations and toys to Chandler’s Ford. Jeff created all these in his garage. You could read about his passion for woodwork published on Chandler’s Ford Today.

Chandler’s Ford Produce and Craft Market is a very pleasant market. It’s small, but it has a good variety of stalls, from fruit and veg, woodcraft, fabric, soap, jam, painting, to personalised cards.

Buying from our local crafters and traders in our local market supports our community in the most meaningful way. It benefit everyone, buyers, sellers, and also the venue Age Concern Hall.

I hope the markets grow well in the new year and get the support they deserve from friends and neighbours from Chandler’s Ford.

A special Christmas tree

I bought cards from Pauline and Sarah (2 special Christmas cards for special friends), something for my cat (catnip) from Caroline, and a cat-shaped summer breeze scented bag from Shirley, and quite a few wooden decoration from Jeff! (He convinced me they look good on a wreath!) Jeff’s wood decoration is not to be missed! Such beautiful designs. Oh, we also bought some eggs from Tom for the week.
