Why am I Talking about Selwood’s Christmas Tree in January?

January 27, 2019 By Janet Williams 3 Comments

Dear readers, please be assured that I’m not mad. It’s only January and I’m talking about Selwood’s Christmas tree – their bright, stunning tree that gives us a glimmer of hope on those endless cold, dark evenings.

While I processed a backlog of my Chandler’s Ford Today emails today, I came across an email from Richard Bright, the owner of Selwood.

Richard said in mid January the reason for the email is to say a big thank you for my wonderful comments on Selwood’s Christmas tree.

Richard also explained a ‘mystery’ to us.

“This year’s tree was in fact 10ft smaller than the previous years’ tree. This was actually an internal mistake as the original supplier let us down, when we located another supplier, we accidentally ordered a 25ft tree instead of a 30ft tree! I promise I will make it up to the community next year.”

So, ladies and gentlemen, aren’t you excited about a large magnificent tree in late November this year?

Thanks to Selwood once again for lighting up the streets and keeping us feeling warm. We look forward to your tree (whatever size it might be) in 2019.

That’s really good to read, although the tree was smaller this year, the lights and the star were the best ever. I get to see the trees a great deal over the Christmas period as I live in Chalvington Road.

So I am already looking forward to Christmas 2019, thank you Selwoods for explaining and thank you Janet for keeping us informed.
