Selwood Christmas Tree in Chandler’s Ford 2015

December 9, 2015 By Janet Williams 4 Comments

Here is the 2015 Selwood Christmas Tree on Bournemouth Road in Chandler’s Ford.

The glow of the Christmas tree has brightened the sky in Chandler’s ford for the past three weeks.

The tree is 30ft and came from Longleat Forestry Commission, which Selwood have used for many years.

Selwood’s representative told Chandler’s Ford Today that the installation of the tree went off without a hitch despite the weather and it has survived the battering of the winds so far!

Selwood’s first tree was erected in 1953 and there has been a tree outside Selwood’s Chandler’s Ford offices every year since.

A stunning tree. We drove past Selwood last week and saw the tree was swaying in the wind. Beautiful decorations.

I remember that first tree …
Quite something at the time, as there had not been anything like it in the village before …
At the time, thought by most to be a ‘One Off ‘ and here we are, 62 years later, and still appearing … WONDERFUL !!!
