Re-designing Chandler’s Ford Infant School: April Rapley Shortlisted for Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists Award

Recently a tweet by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) caught my eyes:

“Chandler’s Ford Infant School Project – April Rapley. Shortlisted for Student our Excellence in AT Award.”

Congratulations to April Rapley, Architectural Design and Technology graduate from Southampton Solent University! Her re-design of Chandler’s Ford Infant School on Kings Road has been shortlisted for the Student Award for Excellence in Architectural Technology (Project) 2017. Eastleigh Fusion Choir – Christmas Charity Concert 2015

The Eastleigh Fusion Choir Christmas Charity Concert at Chandler’s Ford United Reformed Church last weekend (19th December 2015) raised over £830.

The concert was performed to a packed house and it was a wonderfully uplifting experience.

Christmas Charity Concert with Eastleigh Fusion Choir at United Reformed Church

Eastleigh Fusion Choir will be performing this Saturday on 19th December 2015 from 7.30pm at the United Reformed Church on Kings Road.

I grew up in Chandler’s Ford in the 1950s and 1960s.

When I was about 12 years old, I started my first (part-time) job.

This was as a Saturday van-boy for Mr Smith, a greengrocer, who had a shop opposite “The Hut” on Bournemouth Road. (not to be confused with Mr Smith who had a grocers shop in Hursley Road, opposite the Railway Station.) My father came from Lancashire, and my mother from Tooting.
