November 14, 2015 By Hazel Bateman 1 Comment

Eastleigh Basics Bank

I attended Eastleigh Basics Bank’s first AGM on 22 September. Formerly operating under Zion Projects, Eastleigh Basics Bank is now registered as a charity in its own right, with its own bank account.

The management committee comprises Dan Brain (Chairman), Chris Goodhead (treasurer), Denise (secretary and joint shop manager), Dom Hooley (stock control and joint shop manager), and Dave Keating (events manager). [Read more…] about Eastleigh Basics Bank 2015 AGM

Hope Eastleigh 2015

This morning, my son and I went to Eastleigh town centre and was surprised to see lots of activities at Leigh Road Recreation Ground.

We were attracted by the free drinks (and who wouldn’t?), and had some strawberry milkshake. We then explored the park and watched lots of people having fun. [Read more…] about Hope Eastleigh 2015 Highlights

Eastleigh Basics Bank generosity: Chandler's Ford people support Eastleigh Basics Bank.

Two days ago, on our way to Chandler’s Ford Train Station in the morning, my son and I saw Hazel Bateman outside St. Boniface Church, loading lots of things into the boot of her car.

That was a precious moment, so I snapped a few pictures.

Hazel was collecting and delivering food and household products donated by [Read more…] about Generosity: Chandler’s Ford Neighbours Support Eastleigh Basics Bank

With the backdrop of a slow recovery from the 2008 recession and the promise of more cuts to public spending, it is easy to despair at the proposed loss of local services we have come to value [Read more…] about Our Community: What Are We Passionate About?

Eastleigh Basics Bank Update

April 4, 2014 By Hazel Bateman 5 Comments

Hazel Bateman delivering donations to Eastleigh Basics Bank.

Eastleigh Basics Bank is busier than ever – there are often people waiting outside for it to open when I arrive at around 10.00 am with our donations from Chandler’s Ford.

Shop manager Dave Keating has recently had surgery, so the shop is currently staffed by Denise and Dom from Chandler’s Ford Methodist church, together with a team of volunteers. [Read more…] about Eastleigh Basics Bank Update
