Janet and Fred Saying Goodbye to Nightingale Pets After 29 Years

May 23, 2017 By SO53 News 1 Comment

After 29 years, Janet and Fred are saying Goodbye to Nightingale Pets today!

Fred’s been finding the dusty, seedy atmosphere, caused by the birds in particular, just doesn’t do his chest any good, and Janet is sure that the right thing to do is to stop while they are fit and able to enjoy life, travelling, cycling, motorcycling, gardening and enjoying themselves and their family.

Janet says that she has enjoyed every aspect of working in their shop, particularly her customers! She says that they are a brilliant bunch of people, and there is nothing that she enjoys more than sending them on their way with a smile on their face! I’m sure that there will be some who view her as a positive tonic!

I have always found the Allens very willing to help with any problems I or my family may be experiencing with our animals. They are wise and experienced, and kind and generous in their outlook.

Paul and Hannah are a young couple who are taking over the shop. Janet says they are full of enthusiasm for their new venture. Paul keeps reptiles, and already has an online business going, so the transition will not be too difficult. Janet says that she and Fred were very particular about who they sold the business to, and she is happy in the knowledge that they have chosen the right people!

I’m sure everyone who uses Nightingale Pets would join me in saying “Good Luck and Best Wishes Janet and Fred!”
