Yes the October half term holiday is upon us. What’s your plan?
First, the coffin has arrived!
What am I talking about? The coffin has now arrived at Ritchie Hall ready for the Chameleon Theatre Company’s new production, Dracula.
Don’t miss this atmospheric production of Bram Stoker’s classic tale.
Book online now to avoid missing out. Seats are still available for Thursday 29th, with a few still available for Friday 30th and Saturday 31st of October.
(My family will be watching the show on Friday. Do come and say ‘hi’ if you recognise me!)
Second, meet the author!
Meet the author Richard Hardie: Thursday 29th October at Chandler’s Ford Library
What’s more exciting than meeting a popular fantasy author who can inspire you?
Come and join the “gloriously inventive and energetic Sci-fi fantasy adventure” with Richard!
Richard will be hosting 2 workshops in the library with youngsters.
- 10.30 am to 12 noon: Let’s Write A Book (for 10 to 12 years old)
- 2 pm to 3.30 pm: So You Want to Be an Author? (for 12 to 14 years old)
Don’t forget to book a space for these workshops with Chandler’s Ford Library.
Eastleigh Museum: Monstrous Activities
At Eastleigh Museum, there will be monstrous activities on 29th October (Thursday) from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
The half term family fun day on Thursday is linked to Dinofest 2015.
Kids will be making their own monsters, and also Dino door hangers, origami dinosaurs and more.
Just drop in, no need to book. Participating children £2, accompanying adults free.
For details, see Hampshire Cultural Trust.
Currently, Eastleigh Museum has an exhibition of John Sibbick, the Isle of Wight based artist, whose work has featured in many dinosaur books and on television as well as dinosaur galleries in national and regional museums.
Did you see ‘origami dinosaurs’ being mentioned? Well, I’ll be running this session, working with kids making dinosaurs (or what might constitute dinosaurs). Please pop in to say ‘hi’ to me at Eastleigh Museum too if you visit.
When you are at Eastleigh Museum, don’t forget to buy some crafts and locally produced honey.
Food Frenzy at Eastleigh Market
On Thursday 29th October and Saturday 31 October, from 9am to 4pm, Eastleigh Market will be host to a foodie frenzy with plenty of street food.
There will be lots of fun activities to keep the little ones occupied such as face painting, go-karts and entertainment too.
The foodie theme is one of many specialist markets being held in the new Market Place alongside the traditional Thursday and Saturday market.
To keep up to date with what is happening at Eastleigh Market, visit the new Eastleigh Market Facebook page, or information by Eastleigh Borough Council.
There must be some other activities around. Please leave a comment and share local events during half term holiday with us.
