The dairy puts the milk in the bottle,
My mum puts black jam in her tart,
I put my words down on paper,
But you put the hope in my heart.
God puts the colours in the rainbow,
Something about promises after the rain,
I manage to cope with the mind I have got,
But you light the spark in my brain.
In fact you are the spark that reminds me,
Though our time on earth is just a season,
That I am of value – and I have to trust,
For what happened – God did have a reason.

Hello Sally,
I enjoyed reading your poem.
You recognised me two years ago when in St Boniface Church. Can you recall the gang of five from Thornden School: Sue Pullen, Gillian Murchie, Sally Johnson, Philippa Davies and your good self?
Janet Williams says
Dear Ernie,
I’ll pass on your comment to Sally. Thank you for your comment and I’m sure Sally appreciates it.
