Steve Brine MP on the Fryern Hill Post Office: “unlikely to be resolved this side of Christmas”

October 26, 2019 By SO53 News 7 Comments

Following the sudden closure of the Fryern Hill Post Office, Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP Steve Brine has given an update via his Facebook post.

“Thank you to constituents who have contacted me this week after the sudden closure of the PO at Fryern Hill in Chandler’s Ford. Had a confidential briefing from the Post Office this morning to understand what’s gone on here. Suffice to say, while I understand the temptation to grandstand and stir this up, it’s very complex and is extremely unlikely to be resolved this side of Christmas.

Am working with the PO and sorry not to bring better news but it’s my job as your elected MP to tell it straight and not give false hope this can be fixed by any of us shouting loudly. Will keep constituents updated.” (25th October 2019)

I’m glad all of you read photo captions with full attention! Yes I’m now full of remorse 🙂 Note to self: not to confuse postboxes with a phone box or a Tardis or whatever box …

I know you’ve contacted the Post Office as well – hope you’ll get an update soon from them.
