Queen’s Platinum Jubilee: How are You Celebrating?

Communities are coming together to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee throughout the UK and Commonwealth. How are you going to celebrate during the four-day long bank holiday weekend in Chandler’s Ford or where you live?

Parish Church of Chandler’s Ford, Hursley Road – Saturday 4th of June, 2pm to 5pm

“Bring a picnic – we will have a toast to the Queen & Royal cake.”

Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church, Winchester Road – Saturday 4th of June, 3pm to 6pm

Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church would like everyone to come to the church for refreshments and games from 3 pm – 6 pm on Saturday 4th June. The plan is to offer tea and home-made cake in the
Dovetail Café from 3 pm, barbecued burgers and hot dogs from 4pm – 6 pm on the area outside the foyer.

They will be holding a competition with a prize for the best Crown – either made before or on the day from materials at Church. There will be biscuits to ice in red, white and blue. They will be running simple games on the grassy areas and on the rear of the car park – games such as skittles, guessing the name of the teddy, hoopla – games that anyone can play.

The Hilt – The Platinum Jubilee ‘Picnic on the park’ – Sunday 5th June, 11am to 5pm on the Hiltingbury Recreation Ground in front of The Hilt

The Hilt are kicking off its social program with ‘Picnic in the park’ as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

If you haven’t got a street party organised then get a picnic together and join them for live music, Bands, children’s entertainment, bouncy castles, face painting, rodeo challenge and much, much more throughout the afternoon.

There will be broadcasting of the BBC coverage of the Pageant from 11am in Cuckoo Bushes Hall.

You are welcome to come along with friends and family and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment in the park.
