Last Business Day Today For Fortune House Chinese Take-away

February 22, 2014 By Janet Williams 1 Comment

Fortune House Chinese Take-away informed me today (Saturday) that today is their last business day. The Tang Family has decided to end their catering business in Chandler’s Ford after a month.

Fortune House on 119 Winchester Road is run by David, Sim and their son Wing Tang. They only became the new owners in January this year.

The reason of ending the business so soon?

Wing Tang told me he decided to get married next month. There are too many uncertainties, and it would be unfair for his elderly parents to run the Chinese Take-away business on their own.

The family sadly decided to end the business after just over a month in Chandler’s Ford. The experienced chef David is a bit disappointed, but he understands that his son has many important things in life.

Wing met his bride-to-be in Southampton, a student from China doing a master’s degree in Marketing from University of Southampton. They are returning to China to get married next month.

Wing told me he needs to settle down first, and one day he may be back to Chandler’s Ford again to run the catering business.

All the best to the Tang family and congratulations to Wing and his new bride!
