What a glorious day today!
Fryern Funtasia (6th May 2013) today was a marvellous, totally enjoyable community event. I spent my whole afternoon there and still didn’t get round to see all the stalls.
These photographs I took should remind us of what a great community we have in Chandler’s Ford. Churches, charities, businesses, family and children, musicians, street pastors, police and fire fighters, and even dogs and falcons were all there!
Here is a list of some of the people, businesses and services that I came across today. I must have missed quite many. If you know the names or businesses that I’ve missed, please let me know and I’ll be very happy to add them to this list.
Music: Chandler’s Ford Boys’ Brigade Brass Band; Cool jazz played by Dave Tripp – guitar/vocals; Centrestage Production Youth Theatre.
Steam Train: Winchester Model and Engineering Society.
Community: Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Churches Together, Hampshire Police, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, One Community in Eastleigh, Chandler’s Ford Parish Council, Chandler’s Ford Street Pastors, Rotary Club.
Animal: Falconhigh, Fair Oak Dogs.
Business: Ahmad Tea, Jonathan Rees, Bodysound, ImmerSUN, Waitrose, Jarvis Commercial Sound.
Fun: Go-Kart Party.
Card, craft and book: Phoenix Trading (Alex’s cards), Usborne Books, Pickle Cards, Richmond Jewellery, Kiddies Heaven (Face painting).
Food, drink, sweet or plant: The Methodist Church (plants, sandwiches, cakes and drinks), The Liquorice Man, Marucci ice cream, S. Marucci Ices, Rose Bowl Cafe, Fruit Twist.
I’ll be writing more about Fryern Funtasia 2013 in the next few days.

Saturday Church says
We were there with the Churches Together in Chandler’s Ford, promoting family activities in our churches, especially Saturday Church, at the Methodist Church this Saturday (11th) from 4-6pm. All families invited. A great community time – over 130 biscuits were iced and decorated on our stall during the afternoon!
Janet says
I was there briefly too. I saw many children making biscuits there — I wish I had squeezed in to make one myself.
It took me more than half an hour to locate the Churches Together in Chandler’s Ford stall. I hope I could find you easily next year.
If you have a photograph of your biscuit-making, feel free to send me one image and I am happy to publish it here for you.
