Opposite to Platform 18 at London Waterloo Station is a Foyles bookshop.
I was surprised to find Foyles there last Monday. One employee told me the bookshop was new – only 2 months in this new location.
The shop features two attractive restored cupola-style ticket booths.

I relaxed in the bookshop and bought a book called The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly by Sun-mi Hwang, a Korean writer.
This little book reminds me of all our chickens killed by foxes. (Yes, there are foxes in Chandler’s Ford.)

Foyles is the UK’s iconic independent bookseller since 1903. Foyles was awarded UK Bookseller of the Year 2013 at the 2013 Bookseller Industry Awards for the second year running.
It was great to have Foyles. It’s the perfect place for serenity at London Waterloo. What a wonderful place for an escapist!
