Fleming Park Leisure Centre Development

August 4, 2014 By Ray Fishman 1 Comment

Local people have the chance to share their views and ideas and find out more about the proposals to develop Fleming Park Leisure Centre at a series of exhibitions.

The new centre, that is planned to be complete in 2016, will include state of the art facilities and equipment with new and improved swimming pools, gym and main hall together with a range of other facilities.

Staff will be on hand to listen to residents’ views and to present information about the new centre at three local venues:

  • Fleming Park Leisure Centre – Monday 4 August 3pm-7pm
  • Velmore Community Centre, Falkland Road – Tuesday 5 August 3pm-7pm
  • Pavilion on the Park – Kingfisher Road – Thursday 7 August 3pm-7pm

Cabinet Lead for Leisure, Cllr Alan Broadhurst, said: “This is an exciting initiative to build a new leisure centre and I would encourage local people to come along and find out more about the scheme, tell us how they use the existing centre and what they want to see in the new one.”

Fleming Park will remain open throughout the development of the new centre and there will be no net loss of ‘green space’ by the time we have opened the state of the art facility in 2016.
