I receive lovely emails from readers from time to time with their stories.
This afternoon Karen Moth sent me this email telling me something very special about her mother.
“My mum Margaret Tee (75 years old) has lived in Chandler’s Ford all her life and has put on a display of the things she has collected over the years related to the Queen. The exhibition is in Chandler’s Ford Library and is well worth a visit.”

The exhibition will be at the Chandler’s Ford Library till Saturday.

Karen also tells us something more about her family.
“Mum lived in Winchester terrace which was along from where Waitrose is. Her family then moved to Cox Row.
She met my Dad through scouting and they brought the house they have always lived in Valley Road. It was one of the houses but for the brick workers which were based in Common Road. They have never moved.

The strange thing is my maiden name was Tee and my family now live in Tees Close in Valley Park.
I have always lived in Chandler’s ford and love to hear stories that people remember and things that I remember and how things have changed.
Dad has done a lot of research on our family history as Tee is not a common name. We found a lot of relatives buried at the old cemetery in Pine Road.
I hope this information helps. I have lots of memories of Chandler’s Ford and am happy to share them.”

I created Chandler's Ford Today. I use this website to share our passions and inspiring stories, to build a connected community. We inform, educate and enlighten. We share resources.
I wrote and mostly produced the Chandler’s Ford and Eastleigh Gang Shows from 2000 until 2012 when they stopped. Margaret was brilliant in designing and heading up the costume department for around 80 kids and adults on stage. Many proudly kept their costumes because they were so well made!

Truly amazing display – thank you Margaret for sharing your collection. I’ll pop in to the library next week to see them.
Thanks Karen for sharing with us your family stories. We would love to hear more from you and Margaret.
The collection looks wonderful.
What a fantastic display. Amazing that you have collected so much. Thank you for sharing.
