Chandler’s Ford Christmas Postbox Toppers on Display

December 3, 2023 By SO53 News 3 Comments

Thank you for the crafters who are getting in the Christmas spirit in a creative way – with knitted or crocheted postbox toppers across Chandler’s Ford.

Many locals have shared their joy on spotting these on social media.

One of them features the words Chnadlers Ford u3a.

Merry Christmas

Thank you Chandlers Ford u3a for this.

This year u3a are celebrating 25th Anniversary as Chandlers Ford u3a. With the aid of the Mayor of Eastleigh, in March there were at least 25 post-box toppers in place across the community for their main event, which took place in March.

Do you know where these Christmas postbox toppers were spotted? If not, why not go for a stroll to find them, and might be, post a Christmas card or two (do you still send Christmas cards by post?)

Hello, thank you for featuring our Chandler’s Ford U3a Christmas Toppers all made by members of the Crafties group. So far there are 10 all around Chandler’s Ford and Otterbourne with 4 more due to go up this week in central Chandler’s Ford
We make them for everyone to enjoy and most are made with materials we all have in our wool or fabric stashes.
    Enjoy finding them all everyone

Not only did Chandlers Ford u3a make 25 toppers (representing their groups i.e. plumbing, birdwatching, crosswords, scrabble, poetry & plays, Foods of the World, Sunday lunch group, etc, etc) for their 25th Anniversary, but they also made Halloween, Remembrance Day and now Christmas toppers. A very talented bunch of ladies. You can see pictures on Facebook, UK toppers and more or the Chandlersfordu3a page on FB.
