Members of the Chameleon Theatre Company of Chandler’s Ford were invited to perform Sudden Death at Thornbury Manor, as a radio play Charity Fund raiser before an audience of friends and family of organisers Mike Lashmar and Brendon Hunter at North Baddesley Infant School on Saturday evening.
The cast perform on stage while the audience enjoyed a delicious hot meal prepared in the school kitchens.
Including ticket sales and proceeds from the raffle over £2,000 was raised.
The Cycle of Our Lives fund-raiser was launched by Mike Lashmar in memory of his father Stephen, who lost his battle against MS and Lisa Smith, who lost her battle against Cystic Fibrosis. You can read about their stories on Mike & Brendon ride LEJOG blog.
Mike Lashmar and his friend Brendon Hunter will cover the 950 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats on their bikes on the 26th of July.
“We’re fundraising for two real life heroes who battled MS and CF. We’re going to face a huge cycling challenge – Lands End to John O’Groats, 950 miles of gruelling hills, all for two amazing charities the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.”
