Asda Eastleigh’s Community Room

April 20, 2015 By Cecily Casey 2 Comments

We’d like to offer the use of our Community Room to any local group, committee or charity – for free (only for-profit businesses are excluded).

The room can be used at any time the store is open; so afternoon, evening or even early morning meetings are possible.

The only requirement is that you finish 15 minutes before the store closes. (10pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday in normal weeks.)

Situated in our office area there is disabled access via the George Department (and a disabled loo just around the corner).

The room has a conference table and chairs for 12-15 comfortably. There is also a DVD playback system and white walls for projection. The room has air conditioning/heating.

Users are welcome to bring in light refreshments such as drinks and biscuits, provided these are all cleared away and there is easy access to both our toilets and Colleague Cafeteria’s cashless vending machines too.

Free to use for local groups - Asda Eastleigh Community Room can sit 12 - 15 people comfortably.

We are currently hosting regular meetings for local branches of The RNIB, Mencap, the Druglink Diversion Scheme, and Diabetes Education so we should have room for your meeting!

Well done ASDA. That is a really good offer to the community. Good to hear that it is being used by groups.

Thank you Cecily for this information and sharing the community room with the community. I hope one day I would use it for social gathering or craft.

Last time I tried to book a room with a centre to run a harmless activity (well – a book club with a few local people), I was asked to take out a third party liability insurance. We tried to argue that books weren’t going to pose any physical harm – but rules were not to be broken. It was a shame.
